Active Energy Management Through the Use of Data and Analytics (October 17th, 2012; 8:00 AM to 12:15 PM)

In May 2012, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded a contract to IBM, SkyFoundry, ESI, Tridium and several other firms to develop and install advanced smart building technology in 50 of the Federal government’s highest energy-consuming buildings. Part of GSA’s larger smart buildings strategy, the “BuildingLink” initiative will connect building management systems to a central cloud-based platform, improving efficiency and saving up to $15 million in taxpayer dollars annually. Please join us to hear more about this new project and learn how smarter buildings technology can benefit you.

The BuildingLink Team is deploying a system to monitor building performance nationwide and stream data to a central facility, allowing faster analysis and more informed decision-making. This solution uses innovative building management technology, linking major building controls in real-time, to make Federal buildings more energy efficient.

Using this system, tenants will be able to view building performance data on dashboards that provide real time metrics on energy savings and recommendations on how to further increase efficiencies. In the first year, 50 buildings will be integrated into this system; additional buildings will be added as new facilities are built and/or upgraded. The new technology will give government property managers real time information and diagnostic tools to keep facilities performing at peak efficiency, increasing cost savings across the Federal building portfolio.

At this event, you’ll hear from government and industry speakers about how you can apply the BuildingLink approach to your facilities profile. A panel of leading buildings management experts will then discuss how they use data and analytics to more effectively manage their real estate portfolio operations. We encourage facilities management professionals and their supporting information technology teams to attend this stimulating session.
