Cognos is the pre-eminent tool for the analysis of data. Users are familiar with its capabilities ranging from drill down/up to an impressive list of graphics and report formats to the ability to design and build KPI reports and dashboards. Those same users, however, are well aware of the natural constraints inherent in the use of a BI tool for analysis – the requirement for the BI tool user to determine apriori the candidate factors explaining an outcome or variable of interest.
SPSS Predictive Analytics tools, however, have no such requirement. In fact they are engineered to ‘discover’ the pattern of factors that will accurately characterize an outcome of interest. Those patterns are captured in the form of models that can then subsequently ‘score’ future events according to their likelihood of resulting in similar outcomes.
Both SPSS and Cognos can exchange data seamlessly. This means that the predictive scores can be displayed using the superior Cognos reporting capabilities.
Join us in this workshop in which you’ll learn of the tight integration between SPSS and Cognos, as well as see a working demonstration of how the two products might work together in a Human Capital Management scenario.
