Big Data and Advanced Analytics for Program and Regulatory Oversight

Agenda

Big data and advanced analytics tools and methods are enablers for dramatically impacting the changing program and regulatory management and oversight landscape of the public sector. In many ways, regulatory authorities are in an analytics arms race with those that these organizations are entrusted to oversee.

The requirements of program management, regulatory oversight, grant programs, and law enforcement results in the collection and analysis of ever-increasing amounts of data. As a result, this raises many questions:

Furthermore, grant programs are becoming an ever-increasingly effective means for public sector organizations to impact public policy. Nonetheless, many of these grant programs rely on other entities, such as state and local governments and NGOs to sub-grant and monitor for effectiveness. How can big data and advanced analytics tools used to increase the transparency and/or effectiveness of these federal grant programs?

In the "Big Data and Advanced Analytics for Program and Regulatory Oversight" seminar, we will evaluate real-world examples of how the public sector organizations are using big data and advanced analytics tools and methods to increase mission effectiveness.
