Dirk de Bevere Dirk de Bevere
IBM Belgium, Integrated Technology Services Leader Benelux

Dirk is the Business Line Executive for Integrated Technology Services (ITS) in Benelux. ITS serves customers in various industries and provides solutions ranging from smaller, short-term consultancy assignments to large, long-term managed services engagements and specializes in the domains of Business Continuity & Resiliency, Security, IT Services Optimization and Cloud Computing.

Dirk has 22 years of experience in the IT industry, and is now with IBM since 12 years. Today he leads a cross-functional team spanning sales, solutioning, local and off-shored delivery. He is member of the IBM Benelux Senior Leadership Team and the IBM Belgium Executive Committee. Next to that he serves as boardmember for IBM Services Financial Sector Luxembourg and was the chairman of the board of Skillteam prior to its integration in IBM Belgium.

Before taking up his current role Dirk held several management roles in IBM's Global Technology Services Department and prior to that in Software Group. Dirk holds a University Degree at Antwerp University and an MBA at Henley Management College.

Rachel Dines Rachel Dines
Senior Analyst at Forrester

Rachel is based in Cambridge, MA and serves Infrastructure & Operations professionals. Her research focus is on IT continuity and disaster recovery services and technologies, next-generation high availability and backup, and data center strategies. Additionally, Rachel conducts research on infrastructure and operations metrics and organizational structures.

Prior to her current role as an analyst, Rachel was a researcher on Forrester's infrastructure and operations team. She interviewed hundreds of I&O professionals, data center operators, and technology vendors while conducting primary and secondary research for research reports and consulting engagements. Rachel holds a B.A. in Art History and Computer Science from Smith College.

Richard Cocchiara Richard Cocchiara
IBM USA Distinguished Engineer, CTO & Global Practice Leader for BCRS Consulting

Richard is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and the Chief Technology Officer for Business Continuity and Resiliency Services in IBM Global Services, specializing in helping customers drive higher business resiliency in order to realize increased business availability. He has over 25 years of I/S experience and has performed consulting engagements to many fortune 500 companies, particularly in the finance and securities industry.

He is responsible for both long-term strategy and development of Business Continuity & Resiliency solutions and services within IBM Global Services. Starting with an idea that IBM could provide a holistic approach to driving higher business resiliency, Richard has developed a methodology and framework that assists customers in reducing the risks associated with stress to their business. This is done through improved strategy, processes, technology, organization, applications, data and facilities using four mitigating strategies of availability, continuity, recovery and security. He has personally developed and delivered on this new methodology by bringing these strategies together to emphasize prevention over reaction to IT problems and risks.

Prior to accepting his current position, Richard was the national practice leader for high availability services in the United States and an availability consultant to many large financial and securities clients. He meets regularly with the CIO’s of major companies to provide new recommendations on how to improve IT infrastructure resilience and has been a featured speaker at many major technical and industry conferences around the world. He has received several IBM awards for his efforts and numerous customer letters of appreciation. His experience in IS include positions in computer operations, production control, application development, systems engineering and availability management.

Richard has an MSc in Management Information Systems from Marist College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University with an emphasis on Management Information Systems.

Michel Vaessen Michel Vaessen
ICT Manager at Nederlandse Waterschapsbank N.V.

Michel is ICT Manager at the Nederlandse Waterschapsbank N.V. (NWB). The NWB is a leading financial services provider for the public sector. The bank arranges short-term and long-term loans for municipal authorities, provinces, public housing, healthcare, educational institutions and activities in the field of water and the environment. Michel is responsible for the ICT-Strategy and -Government and manages the ICT-departmentat the NWB, since September 2010. Business Continuity Management is a hot issue and a project “Virtualized Server Recovery NWB Bank” is successfully implemented.

Michel works in the ICT-industry for 24 years and is ICT Manager for 7 years. He also worked for other banks; ING Bank N.V. and ABN AMRO Bank N.V. He has studied Informatics at The Hague University(graduated in 1996) and has now reached the final stage of his Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Ralf Verberne Ralf Verberne
Senior Managing Consultant

Ralf Verberne is a certified Business Continuity Manager and part of the leadership team of the Benelux IBM Business Resilience Consulting Practice. Ralf has been engaged with a wide variety of clients on Business Continuity and Security Management challenges. Ralf has an extensive experience in bridging between the client’s business organization and IT organization and easily translates Risk and Process perspectives between these two.

Christian Bosman Christian Bosman
Business Continuity Partner Advocate - Europe

Christian Bosman (44), Partner Advocate for IBM Business Continuity and Resiliency Services (BC&RS) in Europe, has over 19 years of experience in IT. He has worked with a wide range of clients and acquired in depth knowledge on selling and marketing systems, data retention solutions, cloud and business continuity services.

Recently Christian moved to the IBM Global organisation to develop the BC&RS cloud business with IBM Business Partners. There he can apply the insights gained with the enablement and marketing support of the BC&RS SmartCloud Resilience services in the Benelux during the past 4 years. Christian lives in Haarlem (The Netherlands), is married, has a 6 year old daughter and is about to move to Istanbul, Turkey.

Business Development Executive

Ralf Verberne is a certified Business Continuity Manager and part of the leadership team of the Benelux IBM Business Resilience Consulting Practice. Ralf has been engaged with a wide variety of clients on Business Continuity and Security Management challenges. Ralf has an extensive experience in bridging between the client’s business organization and IT organization and easily translates Risk and Process perspectives between these two.

Prior to this role, Lex was been in Global Services for many years working with large international customers in various industries. From Senior Project Manager to Senior Management Consultant, Lex has build an extensive knowledge base and network and was often being seen as a Trusted Partner.
